Beautiful Roman city palace

The Palazzo Farnese is now the headquarters of the French Embassy and is considered to be one of the most beautiful palaces in Rome. It was built in the mid-16th Century by Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, who later became Pope Paul III. The architects were Antonio da Sangallo the Younger and, after his death, Michelangelo and Giacomo della Porta. The majestic, cuboid building impresses with its geometric forms and its perfection. The entrance portal, window frames and windows form a harmonious whole. In the courtyard an architectonic arrangement of antiquity was adopted. Worth seeing are the columns and pillars - the first floor has Doric, the second floor Ionic and the third floor Corinthian forms. Also worth seeing is the gallery on the first floor - especially the fresco "The triumph of love in the universe" by Annibale Carracci.
