Portopalo and Marzamemi

Fishing village and beach paradise in southern Sicily

The two resorts Marzamemi and Portopalo are located directly on the scenic east coast of Sicily. Marzamemi is a small resort with nice beaches. This is also the place where Thomas Mann's novella "Mario and the Magician" was filmed.

Portopalo on the other hand is an important fishing port in Sicily. Because of the abundance of fish many underwater athletes, who appreciate the beauty of the cliffs, spent their summer months there. Numerous beautiful beaches also offer regular summer visitors a beautiful swimming experience. The two islands, Isola di Capo Passero and the Isola delle Correnti, are especially nice for swimming and diving.
