The central square in Belluno

The green and elongated Piazza dei Martiri is the central square of Belluno and one of the jewels of the city. The neoclassical theatre Communale is situated in the east of the square. Long galleries with numerous cafes flank the square on either side and invite you to linger. If you stroll through the galleries along the east, you can reach the nearby Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, where you can turn right into the narrow old streets to admire the beautiful Gothic and Renaissance palaces.
