Trip to Belluno

Holiday on the southern edge of the Alps

In the middle of the Alps in a very exposed area is the capital of the province of Belluno. Situated on a narrow spit of land and perched high above the river Piave, the little town inspires its visitors with a charming historic town including a magnificent cathedral and a splendid view of the surrounding mountains. In the immediate surroundings you can find in addition to the skiing and hiking region of the Dolomites the beautiful Renaissance town of Feltre and other sports areas around Lago di Santa Croce and the Nevegal plateau.

Trip to Belluno: A picturesque town in the foothills of the Alps

Belluno, the capital of the province of the same name, is well worth a visit – not only because of the mountains and the numerous sports facilities in the vicinity. The city high above the river Piave convinces visitors with its own charm. The old town with the magnificent cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and other beautiful buildings are worth a visit in any case. A walk through the narrow streets of the city also provides great panoramic views again and again of the surrounding mountains. In just two hours, the centre can be explored quite well  – including a coffee break in one of the nice cafes in the historic town.

Trip to Belluno and the Dolomites region

Especially from a sporting perspective, the province of Belluno is a highlight for many active holidaymakers. Skiing, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, paragliding and much more is available daily in the Belluno Dolomites. In addition, lakes such as the Santa Croce offer various options for water sports. But also the not so sporty guests will find lots of museums and historical places such as the capital of Belluno itself or the Renaissance town of Feltre, as well as beautiful nature and mountain views. Reasons enough to make a short stop-over in Belluno during your trip to Italy and explore the beauties of the province.
