Holidays in the largest pine forest of the upper Adriatic
With a stock of 50,000 trees, the largest pine forest of the upper Adriatic extends around Eraclea Mare. The grounds of the numerous hotels and holiday villages are often located directly in the Pineta, which exudes a very unique atmosphere. From Eraclea Mare to Duna Verde and Porto Santa Margherita extends a nice tourist area with many miles of wonderful sandy beaches which can definitely compete with the large tourist resorts in Jesolo and Caorle. Duna Verde and Porto Santa Margherita are also pure holiday resorts, designed especially for holidaymakers with their own boats. West of Eraclea Mare, the Laguna del Mort reaches as far as the mouth of the Piave. The special feature of the lagoon is that it is completely undeveloped and natural. Interested visitors can take a trip to the local education centre “Centro di Educazione Ambientale Limosa” in the eastern part of the village, which provides information about the flora and fauna of the coast and offers trails through the pine forest and the dunes. Trips to the lagoon del Mort are also organised from here.
