Sassoli de Bianchi had a vision. He wanted to establish a cutting-edge museum – not just for Bologna, but for all of Italy. Thus he bought a former industrial bakery, converted it into a museum and narrowed down the concept from contemporary art in general to modern, particularly experimental exhibits. The museum features a permanent exhibition with predominantly Italian artists and constantly changing special exhibitions. MAMbo furthermore offers young artists the opportunity to exchange ideals and inspire one another.
