Representative villa in Strà

The Villa Foscarini Rossi is located on the western edge of Strà not far from the Villa Pisani. It was built towards the end of the 16th century by Vincenzo Scamozzi in a typically Palladian style. The owner was – as was so often the case – a Venetian Doge. Giuseppe Japelli renovated the villa in the 19th century in keeping with classical style, which gave it its present appearance. The interior is decorated with many beautiful paintings of various artists. Thanks to the good acoustics, regular concerts are also held here. Shoe lovers will enjoy the exhibition of historical designer shoes that can be admired here.
